It takes a little bit of nerve to give the same title to a song as the name of a quite famous Swedish band and when I first saw this I thought it was a collaborative project between Lune and NONONO.
But it isn’t although there is a measure of collaboration in it. The song was written in Los Angeles pre-lockdown and subsequently revitalised courtesy of Prinz Adrian J Hynne who is better known for the gloriously named quintet Off the Meds, which is also connected in some way to Jelly Crystal, who we featured recently. The Prinz is also known as Adrian Lux and Lune has recorded with him too, as - you guessed it - Lux&Lune. There’s an entire subculture out there that we know nothing about.
It is described as “an uptempo ballad”, which I can agree with and “a mix of eating burgers in LA and the dark Swedish melancholy that forces me to have a look inward”, upon which I cannot comment. And it’s mainly in Swedish.
I’ll cut to the chase. I like my songs, like my novels and my women, to have a beginning, a middle and an end. Nonono has nonenonenone of the above.
What it does have is groove. In spades. If groove is your thing then it’s your birthday.
