NEØV 🇫🇮 - ‘Friedrichshein’ (single from Album ‘Soft Atlas’)

We’ve been writing about Finnish indie band NEØV since about 2014 I think, which I guess is a reminder that we’ve somehow got to 10 years of features about Nordic music, albeit with the occasional hiatus along the way.

Anyway NEØV have mainly consisted of two brothers, Anssi Neuvonen (vocalist/guitarist, songwriter/producer) and Samuli Neuvonen (drummer) although a fair few others have collaborated along the way, including most recently Biggi from Sigur Rós on their latest release ‘Soft Atlas’.

From it comes Friedrichshein, a track which I love in particular for the dynamic contrasts, soft dreamy vocals switching to a thumping, intense wall of sound, highlighting the bands post rock credentials, which we’ve seen from time to time across the years.

The band have just completed an extensive European tour, which they’ll complete at the Semi-Final venue in Helsinki on 16th November. More details on their Facebook page. They’re also on Instagram.
