Recommended Albums This Week (22/01/24): Holy Ship 🇸🇪, MesaVerde 🇳🇴, The Fauns 🇬🇧, Chemtrails 🇬🇧, Suosikki 🇫🇮

This weeks recommended Nordic and non Nordic albums are:

I've written about Holy Ship before, the project of Swedish musician Jonatan Westh, it's great to see a full release from him, and 'Beyond Frames' is a swirling mix of dream pop, psychedelia and interesting melodies, and I've really enjoyed my listens over the weekend.

MesaVerde become the first of probably many Apollon Records releases of the year, with their eclectic mix of prog rock featured on 'All is Well', whilst it's great to see one of my favourite UK shoegaze bands The Fauns return after 10 years with 'How Lost'.

I've mentioned Chemtrails before and their album 'The Joy of Sects' was the 1st new release I listened to on Friday morning, an entertaining blaze of punk power pop that heads in all kinds of directions, and I look forward to seeing them live in Manchester next month. Finally I know less about Suosikki, other than they're described as a 'Finnish Indie Supergroup' (I need to look at the musicians and their connections) and their synth alternative rock album 'Sä oot meistä se kaunis' is definitely worth checking out.
