As normal, no detailed reviews, just a guide to 5 recommended albums from across the world that are all new in the last week.
Norwegian / Icelandic / Swedish project slowshift features fabulous musicians Kristoffer Lo (ex Highasakite), Brynjar Leiffson (Of Monsters and Men), Tomas Järmyr (ex Motorpsycho), whilst the album has contributions too from guest vocalists Fay Wildhagen and Kristian Kristensen and 16 piece orchestra Trondheim Soloists, and together they've released a stunning album entitled 'world going one way',
We've featured Finnish musician Mikko Joensuu before (as part of Joensuu 1685), his album 'Long Ark' has really gown on me over the last week, and it's a weighty release at 75 mins. New Model Army make a welcome return with 'Unbroken', with thunderous tracks such as 'Coming or Going' showing they've still got it, USA indie band 'The Umbrellas' have released a lovely album entitled 'Fairweather Friend', whilst Danish instrumental post / progressive rock band NAKE's self titled debut is as epic and cinematic as I expected.
