We've featured Norwegian 4 piece Veps a few times, notably with an interview before their UK tour in 2022, and just before I had the pleasure of seeing them at the Hare & Hounds in Birmingham.
I was only thinking last week that we hadn't heard much new stuff from them for a while, but they're back with 'Greetings from Peru'. There's always been a natural simplicity to Vep's songs and lyrical themes, they just tell stories how it is, this one charting the break up of a relationship whilst one of the band was backpacking through South America.
I really do like this track, quite a weighty feel to the guitars that give it a rawness, the lyrics compelling and honest, and it all bodes well for their 2nd album , which will be entitled 'Dedicated To' and is due to be released in June.
Hopefully a June release date will coincide with a couple of summer UK Festival and some live dates.
