MaVe - 'Overload' EP and UK dates!
We’ve featured a number of Nordic artists with connections back to LIPA, the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, and we’re delighted to add MaVe (otherwise known as Marita Vestad) to that list as she studied there before moving back to Norway to continue her singing and songwriting. And we have 2 great reasons to feature her right now, because she firstly has a new EP / mini Album out, and she’s arriving in the UK shortly to do 2 live shows – as well as some gigs back home in Norway for our Norwegian readers too….
So MaVe's new EP is called ‘Overload’, and its 5 tracks of dark electronica, with the outstanding feature being MaVe’s huge powerful and compelling voice. The highlight in terms of the EP tracks is the opening song ‘I Go Wild’, with a beautifully written piano accompaniment that acts as a great contrast to MaVes explosive vocal talents. The EP is available on most streaming services, or even better you can buy it on Itunes, and you can listen to ‘I Go Wild’ here:
On to her live performances, and there’s 2 in the UK to tell you about. Firstly she’s coming to London to play the O2 Academy Islington on the 25th March. But of even greater interest to us is the excellent Threshold Festival on the 1st April in Liverpool. We really recommend this for a great selection of Artists and Bands with connections to the Liverpool area, and also playing at that festival is the excellent Mari Hajem, whom we featured last year. Back at home in Norway MaVe also has a couple of dates booked in, including Oslo on the 18th March. For more details please visit her Facebook or in particular her Website, which is definitely worth checking out for a thoughtful personal Blog covering all kinds of topics.
