Green Tea Bitches 🇩🇰 🇨🇳 - ‘I Want To Live Inside Your Head’ (single)

I can’t deny that I was slightly disappointed when I finally surfaced from anaesthetic / critical care to discover that the world had, rather selfishly, carried on much as before. I’d been quietly expecting a few developments in my absence: Trump and Farage both serving lengthy prison sentences, and more importantly I assumed that Green Tea Bitches had already been confirmed as Glastonbury headliners for 2027, and that, in a diplomatic initiative aimed at securing interplanetary peace, the Danish-Chinese duo had been unanimously crowned King and Queen of the Universe.

Sadly, none of this appears to have happened. Not yet, anyway.

What has happened is the release of a new single, ‘I Want To Live Inside Your Head’. And, if their Instagram page is to be believed (I’ve yet to establish why it shouldn’t be), Green Tea Bitches have also been attracting the favourable attention of Clash Magazine, playing their ‘intensely catchy tunes’ to a delighted audience at Sharpe Festival Bratislava, whilst appearing in their ‘trademark panda hats’ - and if they’ve trademarked those things, trust me they’ll be millionaires by Christmas.

Anyway, the new(ish) single is an instant earworm: bright, addictive, entertaining and just faintly alarming. Lyrically it rather brilliantly covers a vast array of subjects from curing diseases, philosophy, microwaves to whether the world is flat or round, yet less brilliantly fails to mention Lemon Meringue Martinis - ‘you quote Fellini and Pasolini, I drink….’ would have worked fine. It’s the sort of track that could just be the perfect sound of your favourite summer festival, whilst also having you check you’ve definitely locked your back door at night.

Green Tea Bitches are still great fun and full of contradictions. We politely request some UK live dates.
