Joykeeper (Sweden) - ‘Adam’ (single)

There’s a lovely crowd of Nordic musicians on Instagram, easily the ‘nicest’ social media space, and that’s where we came across Joykeeper.

They’re a 4 piece band who are Malmö based, and they’ve been around for a couple of years now, releasing a laid back EP entitled ‘TIDES’ back in 2019, with a couple of singles that got some coverage at the time, including ‘Dreaming of Life’ – although I like the atmosphere they create in ‘Disappear’.

Anyway they’re back with a new single ahead of a debut album, which is great to see, and it’s entitled ‘Adam’. Released today it builds on that dreamy, floating style of their 1st EP, but this time with a dance-friendly beat, and it all comes together quite nicely.

Writing about it the band say simply enough ‘’Adam' is an honest tale of a long and strong friendship. The song is a grandiose tribute to indie-pop, touching on realms of analogue synths, epic vocals and catchy melodies”.

I’m guessing the album won’t quite all be in this style, I think we'll see them revert to a more minimalist approach at times, but plenty to look forward to when the album comes out anyway.

Find them on Facebook or Instagram.
