NMR Indie Playlist 19/09

Writer: Andy WorsAndy Wors

Another bumper week of releases and the NMR Indie Playlist has had an update with some of the latest Nordic sounds.

The School Book Depository are back with ‘Hey Instigator’, which easily has my favourite lyrics of the year, and in a similar melodic style fellow Swedes Hangar Nord are included with their song ‘A Thousand Years From Now’ - really enjoyed getting to know their album over the last week. Also from Sweden Tribe Friday are back with their catchy indie formula, this time with ‘forward is the way out’.

I haven’t included much post rock recently, so it was great to come across duo Ambia this week, whilst One and a half dog and the always welcome This Heel add some noisier contributions. Folk punk exponents Crash Nomada are also added this week with their new single, and it’s a very welcome return after a long absence for Norwegian project Madrugada.

From Iceland we welcome MINRA for the first time, along with Oliver Dengsø, Mathias Gundhus and Bjorn Nes, and new tracks from names familiar to regular readers, Sea Lion, I Think We’re Poets and BÜNNI.

The Major Parkinson track clearly isn’t new, but it‘s just so good, it deserves another run out.
