Sløtface (Norway) - ‘YES CHEF’ (single) and LIVE UK gigs

We’re officially on a four-month countdown to one of our favourite Norwegian bands, Sløtface, arriving in the UK for a three-night tour (opening February 26th) starting at the quite brilliant Exchange in Bristol, before heading to the impressively central The Lower Third in London, and then up North to Soup (formally The Soup Kitchen) in Manchester, which I love even if it does always feels like it needs a damn good clean.

In the meantime, “Yes Chef” should keep us suitably fired up. It’s the first release in a new independent chapter for the band — a series of singles where they’ve promised to “reduce the red tape” between recording and release. The result is two minutes of punk-pop chaos, with no pointless herb garnish, and where the food definitely isn’t served on silly planks of wood. I really like this, it rattles through at pace and vocalist Haley Shea does really sound like she’s conducting an argument between a frying pan and a feedback pedal.

We’ll aim to mention those UK gigs at least three times a week between now and February 2026, just in case anyone somehow misses the memo.

“Yes Chef” is out now, self-released via the band’s new independent label ‘Dagen er ødelagt.’
