The Almost Ghosts 🇸🇪 - ‘Nothing to complain about’ (single)

I know it’s really difficult to believe, but I do try and actually research the new Artists and bands I write about. Occasionally however I have to admit defeat, and in the case of The Almost Ghosts I really know nothing, it’s as if they’re erm…. almost ghosts. Nordic Music Review are currently their only follower on Instagram, whilst their website just tells us they craft ‘melancholic indie songs where drifting electronics, understated melodies, and reflective lyrics explore memory, distance, and the subtle weight of everyday life.’

Thats actually a pretty good description, but they’re underselling themselves completely on the melodies, which are gorgeous, as are the vocals, which makes me even more frustrated that I can’t find out more, and at least give the credit to the musicians involved. Latest song ‘Nothing to complain about’ is such a simple premise lyrically, where life is kinda great but no-one really cares what you do, however it just works perfectly, such a well written song with a damn good tune at the centre of the song.

Equally worth checking out is their EP from earlier this year, entitled ‘Sounds from Wednesday evening’, and the stunning ‘Engines’ which was released in March.
